Is Plastic the New Leather?

Zig Zag Flats $42.00

"Fashion and Design are art. They enclose different cultural manifestations and tell the story of our time. They are simply everything."
-Fernando and Humberto Campana

Plastic, you may think is an odd medium for shoes, but actually it's not at all. Melissa has made an art of making plastic fashion statements for your feet and has partnered with various big time designers(i.e Vivenne Westwood) to create unique footwear.

Most recently, Melissa has paired up with Campana; Brazilian artists who use various materials to create modern furniture. With a quick glance at some of their pieces, their new collection of shoes for Melissa are a true representation of what Campana infuses into their design process.

Ultra Girl Bamboo Flats $47.00

The prints Melissa utilizes in their designs defies imagination and often times at first glance, it is difficult to believe that they're still made out of just plastic. Take these Ultra Girl Bamboo flats for instance. The pattern can trick you into believing that they could possibly be made out of bamboo, that is until you try them on.

You can pair any Melissa shoes with a great pair of jeans, a nice summer dress, or even a pair of black tights. And Did we mention that they smell like a little piece of candyland heaven?
P.S.~ Once you are done with your shoes, you can send them back and give life to another pair of  wearable art.
